Interview With Linden (4y 1m)
Below is an interview with my son. His answers are verbatim - I did not interrupt him but I did ask him further questions if he gave a one-word response. I hope to repeat this interview at least once a year to see how his answers develop as he ages. This is his first year completing this interview that I do every year with his sister.
Where do you live? With mommy and daddy! [Says our address]
How old are you? 4 years old.
What is your favourite food? Crepes, crepes are my favourite. I like tella on them.
What is your favourite animal? Every animal. Giraffe and elephant because they are big.
What makes you happy? If I wash my hands, it tickles me. I like to kiss mommy and huggle mommy.
What makes you sad? When my toy went into the drain.
What makes you laugh? If you tickle me I laugh. Daddy tickles me lots.
What is love? Hugs and kisses.
What are you really good at? Soccer, I kick it far and I am fast at socky.
What are you not so good at? Nothing. I don’t know how to jump rope yet. I am still going to learn that skill.
What do you want to be when you grow up? Cleaning the windows. Maybe when I grow up I want to build a house.
What does your Daddy do for work? He goes in his office and talks on the phone, talks on the computer, and writes some stuff.
What does your Mommy do for work? I don’t know. Projects?
What is one thing your Daddy always says? “I love ya!”
What is one thing your Mommy always says? “I love everything about you. I wouldn’t change a thing. You are a great boy!”
Where is your favourite place to be? In the big playhouse. `
If you could do anything right now, what would you want to do? Biking. Can I bike? It’s a beautiful day for biking.
What should your sister know? How to jump rope? Maybe she will take care of me.
What is your favourite thing to play? Playground! I can climb and go down slides and run.
What is the most special thing you own? My home. I got a special mommy daddy and sissy. I like you that’s why.
